The Discipleship team is very excited to announce that our first season of Growth Groups is beginning soon! Growth groups are an essential part of how we do things at People’s church: we connect with God through worship, grow deeper in our faith through small groups, and live out our faith in loving service and celebration. We believe that our ability to live as disciples of Jesus happens as we intentionally focus on our life of faith together.
So what is a Growth Group?
A Growth Group consists of 8-12 people who meet once-a-week for 12 weeks. Gatherings usually last about 1-1 ½ hours. Groups will vary in meeting time and place, as well as affinity (coed, men’s/women’s, age and stage, etc). Usually groups will start with a time of connecting and sharing life updates with one another, spend most of their session focused on a discussion of sermon reflection questions (provided by the Discipleship team), and close with a time of prayer. There is no outside preparation required. GG members are encouraged to attend worship regularly, to meet regularly for study/discussion, and live out their faith with one gathering for celebration and one gathering for service. This spring Growth Groups will run the week of March 5 through the week of May 21.
