Christian Living & Outreach

The Living Our Faith Missions Committee has committed our church to be part of a Faith Build for Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. We will be partnering with five other churches on this build. The home will be constructed in the Renaissance on the Park neighborhood in Fitchburg. Habitat is currently working on twenty-six homes in that neighborhood. A Faith Build is when up to 12 churches come together to provide the prayer, financial support and labor on a Habitat house. Each organization provides an Apostle’s share (1/12) of the funding and labor to build one Habitat home.

As part of our commitment, we must provide 8 workers for 5 work days this year. The dates are as follows: June 10th; July 15th; August 5th; and October 7th. A September date is yet to be decided.

There will also be Fellowship Weeks, when volunteers from all the churches can work. Those dates are: 7/18, 7/22, 9/5, 9/9, 10/24, and 10/28.

In addition to volunteers to do the actual work on the house, we will need lunch prepared for each work date.

This is a wonderful opportunity for us to work together as a church. Please consider whether a team/committee you a are part of would like to pick a day. Invite your relatives, neighbors and friends to work with you. Children 16-18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. Children under 16 years of age are not allowed at the build site.

If you have any questions, please contact Scott Sanford, Paul Smith or Kathy Smith.

The Connections Team is looking for both children and adults interested in being a part of our entry in the Summerfest Parade. If you have an interest, please contact either Jenny Nelson or Anne Staton.
