How Can I Serve within the Church?

Worship and Sunday School depend on the service of many dedicated volunteers. Are you tech savvy? Do you enjoy making music? Want to work with kids? Or welcome people at the front door? There are many ways to give back.

Volunteer Positions Available

Children and Youth Ministries: Volunteers are needed for Sunday school, nursery care, and youth group.

Funeral Coordinator: Coordinates all aspects of funeral arrangements with office administrator, pastors, funeral home, food service, room arrangement, recruiting volunteers.

Kitchen Coordinator: Coordinates kitchen activities and groups, updates and implements kitchen safety and organization guidelines.

  • I want to participate in music ministry.

    People's Church has a Praise Band, Choir, and Hand Bell group. For questions or to sign up, contact Anne Meyer, Director of Music & Worship Arts, at anne@peoplesumc.org.

  • I want to assist with Worship services.

    Want to work with the team that decorates the Worship space? Sign up with the Sacred Space Team.


    Looking for a role during the Worship service? Positions include:

    • Greeters, ushers and information desk 
    • Readers (to read Bible passages aloud in Worship)
    • Tech positions: Sound tech and camera tech

  • I'd like to work with children or youth.

    Once you pass a background check, there are many possible volunteer positions available to choose from:

    • Sunday School teacher or assistant
    • Youth Group assistant
    • Nursery workers and substitutes

  • I enjoy praying for others.
